For some reason I go through spurts where I feel like I'm so busy that I can't keep up with everything. When that happens, I get WAY behind on the blog! Anyway, we had a great trip to California and really enjoyed the cabin trip and seeing our good friends the Radcliffe's, Brower's, Checketts' and Thompson's again. I had fun, despite the fact that I was extrememly sleep deprived and therefore a bit cranky! Ezra had fun playing with the Brower's little girl Audrey and when the Thompson's brought their new baby Audrey up too it was just a house full of dirty diapers and sweet baby smiles.<br /><br />After the cabin we headed south to LA for the Dodgers Home Opener. Ever has been going with our friend Mike Wilcox for the past 4 years and has been looking forward to taking Ezra ever since we found out we were going to have a baby. This year I got to go too and Mike's brother 'Q' came along also. We ate at Phillipe's first (a sea of Dodger fans) and then were off to batting practice and the game! Dodger's won 5-0, no doubt because Ezra brought them good luck!<br /><br />The next day we got to do something that I'd been looking forward to- Disneyland! It was a blast! Ever's mom got to go with us and witness Ezra's first trip to the Happiest Place on Earth! He had a lot of fun watching all the kids and we of course had a lot of fun watching him. He got his very own pair of Mickey Ears and looked pretty darn cute in them if I do say so myself! We can't wait to go back!<br /><br />The last day of our trip I go to see my best friend Lori and do some shopping at Babies R Us (still a favorite hang out) for Ezra and her soon-to-arrive bundle 'Guido.' Ever and I also got to take Ezra to Barnes and Noble, one of our other greatly missed hang outs, and he got some fun new books to take home; his favorite is now "Ten Little Tadpoles" with the pop-up frogs at the end!<br /><br />We always enjoy California and hope to be back again soon! Enjoy the pictures, we took a ton and believe it or not, these are just a few!<br /><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div></div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdDKyOt8T5NWFovvHtaYmK-DJ4UfZ71W7TTV92lKVhNl4r7aAhi8KIXNVok7_7n_4HF2MKYhMcX3cu97u7feIGIOwyP2Uu7SAqZL9x9tg-4K7CsnE4q6mq9DO6vZ1NHxeaR4Z12uE0Qwu6/s1600-h/04012008+087.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5186319650507950674" style="DISPLAY: block; For Ever's birthday in February we went to the Zion Mountain Resort just outside of Zion National Park. It snowed the whole time we were there and it was beautiful! Ezra loved being bundled up and taken out to play in the snow with mommy and daddy. Shortly after that trip Ever went up to Salt Lake on business and we went with him. Since Ezra was born just over 7 months ago he's been to Austin, TX, Zion Mountain Resort, Salt Lake and has made 5 trips (Soon to be 6) to California. He's a busy boy! <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5179132127616436402" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3O0OATuJDE3QdICZzM25-8Xw__jHGoE0r6dOFSk4qyPPbr4g_V1-IeOdZelGSh76BeOPEjsCDbETAPCr187KQNE1YxJEbZPaO65u_EOVi9hr0EWsAo_q2-82x7k1kT_-sqBGCHt8t7Sa1/s320/22308+005.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5179124448214910914" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyhr67a0UbaCf2IUH0t3S1dMMr73fye1knznfGFE7RS51KbtEOVV58iT6lfKRcAngfSUWu4QheBzxECw71-WmM0C66vRT7CIn7Jew86uZbSL6Qc4qfAPq4KfTVGC5BstIv59DD3Mi5YFhG/s320/22308+009.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5179125148294580194" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4BoY9xp41RiMIoSgwTo3kzmez903yll6pf31aS69U9LTFUjOqEnwj_xjA1VvtjxFZ3RclfIBWIhXa1sE-U_3u6U52pjINTluVtrHlFGLvOZYTFkYvmEQV33uRpjmFpjlsFgcO6s2UImW-/s320/22308+021.jpg" border="0" /> Not the best picture of me, I'd just fallen in the snow up to my hip! After just three chapters he was inspired to adopt a title himself so if you wouldn't mind, please address him from now on as "Don Everardo de Monclova." He travels the world with his son and heir "Ezra the Noble" and instead of a trusty steed he dashes into adventure with his overweight dog "Saint Spencer." I don't really think I play into the little fantasy very much, at least not until the hungry band of travelers come trooping home, then I'm known as "Kelsey the Cook." I wonder what ideas he'll pick up in the next three chapters? Perhaps we were better off just watching t.v. I love you babe! You really do make life an adventure and I wouldn't have it any other way!Ever + Kelseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11013274096907400803noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4276046607774158539.post-27096100851470530632008-03-11T10:51:00.000-07:002008-03-11T11:36:45.984-07:00T.V.-aholics<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDn2Yn05z9qMJBPelQbAAP-XsI6ZAHK7Xvafx6QtSc0SfnDBvwNki2ogiWldTknpFjDmNgNQxcrVk7JmPhLB4A_u1E9ekHi8J7h1Zg0X5MFAApX-bw2IgHze1naDWFeaN6Xr3Es2wO0w5x/s1600-h/t.v..jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5176549520831678274" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 210px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" height="213" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDn2Yn05z9qMJBPelQbAAP-XsI6ZAHK7Xvafx6QtSc0SfnDBvwNki2ogiWldTknpFjDmNgNQxcrVk7JmPhLB4A_u1E9ekHi8J7h1Zg0X5MFAApX-bw2IgHze1naDWFeaN6Xr3Es2wO0w5x/s320/t.v..jpg" width="109" border="0" /></a> So lately Ever and I have been talking about how much junk there is on t.v. and <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUb7DtwVu6Eo3kVEdawumauQEiYsQcGEkjpXYRHYBxYWrXL72p-dRDgym49NLdrWWLipOltWP5fUu_KLN25dCjpxkunpT9vaa3tSFaalkABttHmfEy0VR9NdE5Ti3RDfQvEtkQzULg4Rbr/s1600-h/quixote.jpg"></a>how we spend a lot of time watching that junk. Sometimes life just gets away from me and before I know it more than a month has past! There's too much to write since we've been on several trips since I last posted so I'll just put some pictures up instead and let them tell the story. They're not in chronological order so there are some that are way back from Christmas.<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174307063443568402" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRDa0WvAHEA248MDGiEtFBQ9BBA97ygYk7sa6ZNP7vwfwjuBLPC1iQHlctpDUyAXqzA1Q5B-r94AX3htdicZUTdWAtyW-AJk9vjq40b0rbRmFy__uznQ_N4aQ-vhiyhtv6BWtwC3WPBaK9/s320/CA+039.jpg" border="0" /> My favorite Britney Spears shot of Ezra "driving"<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174307806472910626" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjINHJ5MrfQ_OwNyttfn30uzOmMG7jUZ-iEuTwJAGs0ewhfQiCB4PIxjHCdoBKbJc2360yjgUFN__o8ejTlubipVKNTV8lFmaO5o0hqma6P_QQCMuDTMoPo27GRR7z2hD6uPAjEv1xlzXg5/s320/CA+051.jpg" border="0" /> I just think it's a cute picture!<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174308313279051570" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpIGcYzFUBhywtvJdWFVn58mtr4E9y4vO4UXpcKj8PCYq6a-ZTqgZl6qdh9XS341FAM1IahmKSday7GR6buA1EqN9FioZUz91QmQij7k0v3Gv3J_c74PvhQfCVboatp0gySUfYh6dCuHKi/s320/CA+004.jpg" border="0" /> Ezra with his daddy and his two cousins: Celest and Nathan<br /><div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174317337005340610" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3RIGRpWtyrLlzytbyk1_EnXGFfslFl-oUsw0fSIDPvpiD0YCHmT23BIahltZ48tl_6bExSj9VVZIt-mELn7eUvbIICySslIIl0V9OtSzXQO5F_wu_9z49FyaNf3FMiTjrb7Q6TAHRF3o7/s320/CA+003.jpg" border="0" /> Grandma Rosa with Ezra and Nathan<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174319377114806274" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtUxWeXUg3hl0ncN6xya1IHjJNlx1rcYCelkymw3czgOVKaNboOqQE_8tMFURiWnvCT2zJSJKMxQ8_4fWWa-fbdOi7Ie8SiYxV4eWCwcGZoQRW4OyfFaYIInUkzMM_IioP3UADeay9u4XO/s320/CA+171.jpg" border="0" /> Grandma Rosa, Ever and Ezra at Downtown Disney!<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174308802905323330" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGG_1ozineD2dItmorYPg0YwDcm0vUvc_ls30We-9Mtj3aNgYNCybevJcnz0GKJAJr2Wg6bGYYSXbqP-HQBB6znuz7PZszvdfEon30GpmxS8B_L9POMUsdZZZxx0RQqV14WuTTmiUAedul/s320/CA+015.jpg" border="0" /> Ezra and Ever at Pinkberry in California. Sure there are still sleepless nights and screaming fits to be endured but all the wonderful things he does makes up for that 100 times over! About a month ago the doctor started him on some rice cereal and today he started some oatmeal too. He certainly seems to prefer the oatmeal to the rice cereal since he gobbled all of it down in record time! In about two more weeks he gets to start real baby food and we can't wait to see all the faces he makes as he tries new flavors and tastes!<br /><br />Last week he also started an 'army crawl' where he drags himself along on his elbows to get to whatever he wants. That is something I'm having a hard time getting used to! The other night he was on the floor with me sitting next to him and when I looked over I found that he'd drug himself to a bowl with leftover fudge topping in it. He'd dived right in and smeared it all over the carpet, the couch and himself! I'd just given him a bath and then he covered himself in chocolate! He loves pulling himself over to wherever the dog is laying and grabbing his paws. Spencer is very good with him, very gentle. It's amazing how quickly he can move so we're really having to re-think what we leave out! Nothing is safe! <br /><br />Last night we discovered that his first little tooth had popped through on the bottom! I'm sure another one won't be far behind. We just can't believe how fast he's growing! It seems like just yesterday that we brought him home and now here we are over five months later with this beautiful little person bringing such joy to our lives. He's very alert, active, and smart and his smile just lights up a room and his mommy's life! I haven't downloaded the new pictures yet but I'll post them as soon as I do! We're certainly enjoying life here in Ezra Land!Ever + Kelseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11013274096907400803noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4276046607774158539.post-73745597226439323412008-01-02T15:27:00.001-08:002008-01-02T16:00:46.776-08:00Ezra's Very Merry Christmas<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3wQXQMHJbZnoaw-SDODCo2DiSYZU-BXrvfwq50cTFMUwkIyLVi2bdRr058jPKGiyDUREVWVHkEKLqeV2WPO4cxC-8Aw8Fef3rfwGpS5-TH_9IGu5we6D1U232JRsDAZA5Frjy56AJAOLo/s1600-h/christmas+094.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5151030222057444338" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3wQXQMHJbZnoaw-SDODCo2DiSYZU-BXrvfwq50cTFMUwkIyLVi2bdRr058jPKGiyDUREVWVHkEKLqeV2WPO4cxC-8Aw8Fef3rfwGpS5-TH_9IGu5we6D1U232JRsDAZA5Frjy56AJAOLo/s320/christmas+094.jpg" border="0" /></a> So this year at Christmas we got to enjoy the best gift ever, spending it with our new baby! It's funny how things that were once so important are now a distant second at best as you watch your baby experience things for the first time. Ezra got a high chair for Christmas and we sat him in it while we ate Christmas Eve dinner. No one was really interested in the food though, we were all too busy watching him bang his toys on the chair tray and experimenting with the new freedom that sitting up brings.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5151027580652557218" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwF0hNEiUdf3B_fJ11a5I7uTcXdAInRhOE4LeVb3q7W7LysVVd9Ud8LDG0_KdwHeoTeKTldyazoInGDugLBP5ywzt-uGA5fu50UL_ATG0Vp61pOOzhLhMYw0sMxHIyi6s6Bpfk1lvwvfRk/s320/christmas+049.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5151027267119944594" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn1vCNFAIdjDhesaI9QG3aW-J7sfQVGWiASrGYwrF5VvskU3KPf8f2k2B7Vf_Hudhdd4NRDAwvtVf_-V_6AlTdgO_5fHbByXKOMUNlmbYARYRxUWAsISlFGejSsxyBYZS2pNAnszj5QqvG/s320/christmas+044.jpg" border="0" /><br />While we had all had fun opening our presents, we loved giving Ezra his. Of course he had no real idea of what was happening but he had a blast examining each new gift as he 'opened' it. My dad got him his first set of wheels! Very fitting since my dad is a car guy! It's so cute and we know Ezra will love to zoom around the house with it!<br /><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5151028740293727170" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQNeKk0cMLuNc2RvtwX4D9kTh6TfYPRHehzBRTRnGL7uQVUEvbYzl8Y7DMcJxDaB-qYt2tuKrxW8SEUiDYrbotB7JjV2Ks3AIlfzP78ZHgTyk_WLC_XXrGdf9z5wkFgagFm2cD6vm8vo2g/s320/christmas+078.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5151029144020653010" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyLtXW05L-8ZEaTPkEpaKd1kX3pLyrKnLyba5K_Ln-akuksTZnFHUI-R-dmioQG3va2AnaM2Cq0QlQ8H3wuPT9-0keRlQjXofp4g5MZaFfnD0JZ2cgsYL3_j8RVt1DYbKWhVJEzrqaDs3T/s320/christmas+081.jpg" border="0" />We spent Christmas Eve with my family and then left Christmas day for California to spend it with <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Ever's</span> family (we haven't downloaded those pictures yet). There we had our traditional dinner of homemade tamales with <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">arroz</span> y <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">frijoles</span> <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">rancheros</span>. It was a tad louder there than it was at my family's considering that there are 5 brothers and sisters, <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Ever's</span> mom, a cousin and three <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">grand kids</span>. With the arrival of Ezra, I am now outnumbered 3 to 1 if you count Spencer our dog. This is the complete opposite of how I grew up with my poor father being the only male in the house. Besides my mother, sister and me there was also Ginger the Golden Retriever and Lovey the Diva Cat. Dad was surrounded by so much estrogen it's a wonder he made it through our teenage years without snapping at people's ankles and barking. There was always the issue of who was wearing whose shirt, who had taken mom's make-up <em>again</em> (Kiley) and if he was really, <em>really </em>sure that we didn't look fat in that dress. Good times. So now I find myself the sole representative of my gender and it's pretty interesting. I mean one of my lovely men leaves the toilet seat up all the time, one of them pees on my patio furniture and one of them pees on me. I'll let you sort out who does what. Still, I wouldn't change it for the world. It's a lot of fun to watch Ever, Ezra and Spencer playing at the park together and when we're all snuggled in for the evening on the big couch with the dog routing for left overs in the trash (lovely pic<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNi4cJzd5rJaDUpEwF9ZK_kH43ydF-1hvDMVtEo_ak79Qs3uLDRJqUr360cI_P_EoWE6QviOyeA3EdfYhM4akUALBcUiHlKelyVjnhUEh8FU1tV62kgGk1AVfDtmg9ECrj_L7K175JxkX3/s1600-h/Ezra+5+187.jpg"></a>ture) I can't help but feel pretty darn satisfied.<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5143973947272401762" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0OMbBsV_D_5IW0G4wfFNbXj1y5BjJWkHf362UPQoBcPk5qzrq8UW5Q9skrRJh3awWDZZkAI3_rzhCuyQR_hTDtSJC69MuAupG48dJM93PKYjZ2UaDE_7mH5NdiR1909nqR64PTwWepKie/s320/Ezra+5+174.jpg" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5143974754726253442" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1yIGxAoRppnyZneIo8YdDJEZzL5htvgnKyn6GAsLyUSeecLuRjlfTVl81c2o4kDoUZGD4k7eO_WDsWhgXpIrD4NTy7jLNLmwcXbTF7gor7Es4dSF1H-Fse_FMcWASX4Hedk6JKFpwhm99/s320/Ezra+5+187.jpg" border="0" />Ever + Kelseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11013274096907400803noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4276046607774158539.post-35761889112075693822007-12-01T20:45:00.000-08:002007-12-01T21:01:12.490-08:00Nothing new<div align="center">Not much to blog about so I thought I'd share a few of my favorite pictures from the last couple of weeks.<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5139232879268275202" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrcTqIqnREEtFW7llQdr1R6l9dTSh_cCB47g6QOhvsg_AFYgk5err2OFWelHoZYLLsUfAHJUCm7UtqzCLAZjiJ7QMfrgfLpV25TDpF0k-a1EorTugd-nIKslHDAg2HdKH17dwGQqVB6uo8/s400/1.jpg" border="0" />Ever & Ezra<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5139233635182519314" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsxEXLr6YBcZgBtUdAFDVkGiRAulhcr32UKL3MC4BAX8wE4cWrIrZTOXtzq1j0O6UEBkJ61H7cdHtUaNIVvefAyomfE8B0XXVGql39mQ0yBqK0D9huQLEBafxihb2Cku0PRacgkajyAvZE/s400/2.jpg" border="0" /> Zion National Park<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5139234283722581026" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUAHEH8Et5zrHIVo_n-TtDEwcx3gSJkH22Uu5IHlwgc4PC8y1pbzHtvBiq_NgOCPSlPZe1GnHD9YM0ews49NYRmUwdT0LzLJLKzqj5w0dnJNkKZywQjVNXndoDtqeNv7Fvgy-gbMINQOBp/s400/3.jpg" border="0" /><br /><p align="center"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5139234807708591154" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHFmZjNZpiGR5ju5cXNT323ANY2ilBb4l1dKbWw9wDZmevNCKYXesYJYumNeEmn_Kptr10lRggmNLOlZqGAUWqeWJKfNn-xo23k7I23E5JmdtcRXIBFa1o33viZmNNiAMfB2QQI-Ru5OPX/s400/4.jpg" border="0" /></p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5139235370349306946" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-EEQuxovaQD4HrHXvIY4kD70dlldwEY5_TQ0w4gaXvA7OGFw9LqpriSEbioXx2OtZguNfRs8nRruyxpnOqreKZJBUxFL4joIYjUOZ95030jw223itvFIzeEQtZ3bO-k6LHniLto5QdpHP/s400/5.jpg" border="0" /></div>Ever + Kelseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11013274096907400803noreply@blogger.com226tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4276046607774158539.post-13932232752025893222007-11-28T12:02:00.001-08:002007-11-28T13:10:24.102-08:00Spanish As A Second Language<div>So a week ago I gave my first lesson in Spanish in Relief Society. It freaked me out let me tell you! I'm still not comfortable with the language even after all this time. I underst<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVJNxcg0xhET-2PExmx02ki2XZL-dIRdpzflMXiuaWmTKytbBdah6NqCeOF_kO1ddS5t7fU-hY196-yMAlpLXAiZsxlukW2Ko1jiYXnWaD7RaxFP1UuSuv8U4Q_JgLigbbNTNXPbbubNAX/s1600-h/spanish.bmp"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5137994584923054402" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 161px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 180px" height="132" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVJNxcg0xhET-2PExmx02ki2XZL-dIRdpzflMXiuaWmTKytbBdah6NqCeOF_kO1ddS5t7fU-hY196-yMAlpLXAiZsxlukW2Ko1jiYXnWaD7RaxFP1UuSuv8U4Q_JgLigbbNTNXPbbubNAX/s320/spanish.bmp" width="200" border="0" /></a>and it very well but I have an awful time trying to respond. When someone asks me a question, I answer in English. It's frustrating for me because I feel I should be more fluent by now. The words just stick in my head though and refuse to come out of my mouth which is a real switch from how I am in English since almost everything I think comes out my mouth! Anyway, I prepared the lesson in English and then Ever helped me translate it. I have to say that it actually went pretty good though I can't take any credit for that; it was because of all the prayer that went into it beforehand and because of the patience and help of the <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">hermanas</span></span></span> in RS. We're already teaching him some Spanish and it gives my mom an opportunity to practice hers again! We're not sure how old Ezra will be when we head back to an English-speaking ward but I'm sure he'll have some memorable experiences during the time we're attending the Spanish Branch. Ever and I joke that he'll learn Spanish and English from us and then serve a mission in Tokyo or something! I love being able to see him baptize and confirm some of our new members! The Branch is growing pretty quickly, we have baptisms about twice a month right now! What is up with women's swimwear these days?? I mean really! It seems the goal is to show as much skin, in as many places as possible without actually being nude. Now, lest anyone think that I'm bitter over the addition of a series of lovely stretch marks that have appeared post-baby, let me first say that I've never been a fan of bathing suits, have never worn a bikini and have done my best to keep as covered as possible. Boys board shorts are far more preferable than those ride-up-in-all-the-wrong-places ones they sell for girls. Anyway, I digress. As I was saying, what is up with swimwear? I've been thinking that I should start a petition to bring back turn of the century bathing suits. <div><div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5133508268244082994" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIOFp4MitUDl7C8i4CMwvvHEPVWcfceMw5CRd_mlZ9j7IBJcDHm5ydL088YsUnxi-QcR3f2wSYi45shAXcilcApwRH3ZVQKbAInHBe9x5duOk7vbBWf1hYOw2j1KhrtbKg8k1lQNaUpEoL/s320/beauties.jpg" border="0" />I mean they're very practical. First of all, they'd cover stretch marks beautifully. I don't know many women who have stretch marks on their knees or wrists. You could prance out in one of those beauties and not worry about a stretch mark sneaking out from under your suit to betray you! Second, I don't know if you've noticed but I'm a bit, well fair-skinned. Ok, ok, so I'm as pasty as a cooked spaghetti noodle. As you can imagine I burn very easily. These lovely suits cover so much more of the body that there is less of an area exposed to those harmful UV rays. That means less sunburns which means less skin cancer! It's a win-win! Plus I wouldn't have to spend 45 minutes trying to cover every square inch of me with sun block (and now unfortunately there are a few more square inches to cover than there used to be). Finally, check out their feet. What other bathing suits these days can you wear black socks with and still look that chic? These are the world's perfect bathing suits! No more stressing about cellulite or love handles. No more worries about tan lines or a bit of flab. These babies hide it all! So what do you say?? Who's with me? Bring back the 1900's bathing suit!!<br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div>Ever + Kelseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11013274096907400803noreply@blogger.com60tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4276046607774158539.post-71939731124599846152007-11-13T19:02:00.000-08:002007-11-13T19:16:23.670-08:003 Months Already!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQR1EE04X9R-4vBve9ZOqNushKfEdN_P1HJw4cgEkfr9cg9wGaPrTcXXZgEfYUAo2FI2cG2Kl90hl_D2Jpj_Boz6r-0Zgw7HxI1eKi84XkYjFLn36fghsWednwcYzeUo2lWLdh5FYvoo4D/s1600-h/Snow+Canyon+2+018.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5132529625036610514" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQR1EE04X9R-4vBve9ZOqNushKfEdN_P1HJw4cgEkfr9cg9wGaPrTcXXZgEfYUAo2FI2cG2Kl90hl_D2Jpj_Boz6r-0Zgw7HxI1eKi84XkYjFLn36fghsWednwcYzeUo2lWLdh5FYvoo4D/s320/Snow+Canyon+2+018.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1BGGrKb1QXCMJL9q_WlhcrL7HculmZ2p8DSObbwxZwfiMF4wMMqsEGEwdlPaxu7OIaPHfJCvPUzQ9fhfPXSDcyhMl8-YpvEqHcEuUBg306LyMtfG_T7K8QRAbumSUBXPZSMHB33Ss7La6/s1600-h/Snow+Canyon+2+018.jpg"></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimmuwbZ7ARcFSWmTjXw__vnQy1-u5TbbBuX0KlgK-olEz_nc0BLuTJl3r5ABvlX_I8i6eM4Pds1ZqNYsoKRBKz3kQvtKJnUuJbDIhyZBk4igjbPudTkfF69qmLq3RsmERsku-Wq5MEy9Fk/s1600-h/Snow+Canyon+2+018.jpg"></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-BySw7n-lTBUPrSNJXYUc-DjbQcvLNt1cHqcYdF5s1ercos9Zk2q0Q7j5oBjBnKiHO3bH4i5aG1Qr5QIkhTUkPxkIIgKSWVtRCp4719fP8MCs3_Do6-45V0oUbso7RZPSElTzEAjp_jnX/s1600-h/Snow+Canyon+2+018.jpg"></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div>So today Ezra is 3 months old and looking back I can't believe that it's been that long and at the same time it seems like just yesterday! He's getting so big so quickly that it's scary! He's been able to roll over from tummy to back for several weeks and now he's getting to the point where he can flip from his back to his tummy too. I'll never be able to take my eyes off him! He also holds his head up so well and loves to look around at everything going on and today he discovered his reflection in the mirror. Apparently he thinks he's one handsome dude because he was all smiles. He also "talks" up a storm. Today he's been particularly vocal, making all kinds of noises and sounds. He seems to like making the really high pitched ones the best; it even gets the dog's attention! Ok, thanks for being patient while I expounded on all my son's talents. I can't help but be the proud mamma once in a while! Happy 3 month birthday to our little boy! </div></div></div></div>Ever + Kelseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11013274096907400803noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4276046607774158539.post-21501406623528313762007-11-11T19:57:00.000-08:002007-11-11T20:38:25.820-08:00Ode to SleepSince Ever posted about Spencer, his neglected friend, I thought I could post on a neglected friend of my own...sleep. Ah, sleep and I used to be such good friends, I looked forward to it every night. I thought about sleeping in on the weekends with an excitement that almost equaled that created by a trip to Disneyland. I could stay up late (well late for me anyway) on Friday and Saturday nights because there was no rush to get up early the next morning. I would snuggle down beneath the covers and slip off into blissful dreamland, a happy escape from the long day just finished. Alas, times have changed! Sleep is no longer a welcome break between days but is now something squeezed in between night time feedings and sunrise. I've become something of a "sleep <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Nazi</span>," enforcing my bedtime with military-like precision. There is no staying up late even on the weekends because the baby does not seem to realize that mommy would like to sleep more than 6 hours during the course of the night. He finds it equally <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">unconcerning</span> that I would dearly love to have those 6 hours be consecutive. Yes sleep <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">deprivation</span> does strange things to people. I've never had such bizarre dreams before! The other night I dreamed that I was in China, alone, and that I'd manged to get separated from the only woman there who spoke English in a giant, underground shopping mall that was made up of miles of narrow tunnels lit by neon blue lights. Weird! Now if anyone out there is worried that perhaps <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Ever's</span> sleep is being disrupted as much as mine, I can safely report that he is completely unaware of what goes on over on my side of the bed with all the ups and downs and <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">tuckings</span>-in and feedings and diaper changes. I honestly don't know how he can get up in the morning and have the nerve to tell me he's tired. It's a wonder I haven't done him bodily injury! To sum up my feelings on this matter, I have penned a short poem. Ahem...<br /> <br /> Sleep, dear sleep you once were my friend,<br /> Though now our sweet moments have come to an end.<br /> While others at nighttime do still dream and snore,<br /> I wake with the baby 'til I can take it no more.<br /> Someone please tell me when will this boy sleep<br /> Through the night so my poor mind I'll be able to keep.<br /> On that happy night I'll be heard to exclaim<br /> "At long last my sanity now I'll reclaim!"<br /><br />A pathetic rhyme perhaps but the best one my befuddled mind can come up with. I must say though that no matter how tired I am, Ezra is worth it all. He's such a joy and a blessing in our lives that when I stand over his crib at night so tired I literally can't see straight and he smiles up at me, I know that every second is worth it and that I wouldn't trade motherhood for anything in the world.Ever + Kelseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11013274096907400803noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4276046607774158539.post-72208849438939246122007-11-08T17:40:00.000-08:002007-11-08T21:23:24.349-08:00Ode to Spencer<span style="font-family:georgia;"></span><div align="center"><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">With all the attention being paid to Ezra, the newest member of our little family and the heir to the "Casa de Gonzalez" throne, Spencer our beautiful black lab hasn't been receiving the attention he was used to before the baby came. Feeling a little guilty I decided to dedicate an entire post to my first boy <em>- Spencer the Great.</em><br /><br /></div></span><div><div><div align="center"><div><div><div><span style="font-family:arial;">Spencer came into our lives two years ago this month when Kelsey decided she wanted a dog for her birthday. He already had the name Spencer and we tried to come up with different names because we really didn't like it. Spencer sounds like a grumpy old man's name (no offense to all the Spencers or grumpy old men out there). I wanted to name him Goose...I'm Maverick and he's Goose, you know my wing man, but Kels said NO. I was a bit nervous about the trip since we had a layover in Denver both ways. We'd booked the trip last minute and it was all we could get! Ezra did great though, he had no problems flying at all and didn't even seem to realize he wasn't at home! We had a blast in Austin! We looked at a lot of model homes, ate at a lot of fantasitic restaurants (something we really miss living in St. George), did some shopping, did the tourist thing downtown, and went to Barton Springs to get the whole outdoor experience. Ezra was wonderful the whole trip! He especially seemed to enjoy Barton Springs, I think he likes being outside. We feel lucky that we were able to take this trip and go someplace we haven't before. I know Ezra won't remember it but Ever and I have always enjoyed traveling and we're excited to now include our son in our trips. We'd like to go back again soon and maybe see some of San Antonio next time too. Thanks Thanya and Sean for making it such a great experience! The next time we move, Austin may be our new home town! </div>Ever + Kelseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11013274096907400803noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4276046607774158539.post-64203450915055225062007-11-04T18:54:00.000-08:002007-11-04T19:59:36.202-08:00Ezra's First Halloween<div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0bRW97SrdLFtfBu9opmbXpVT7zoZvQfNRr8b7Ax5mRPuPkr8HAdbzwqPvIs7IznTAnWd9UyXJ3HsAiVPdK4FKwhLeOA_jY68XPRNVO2rMnvtK9FI00vp7v2XQywVZhkTPTCd0bZ-3j9im/s1600-h/Kels+%26+Ezra.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5129197376362327154" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0bRW97SrdLFtfBu9opmbXpVT7zoZvQfNRr8b7Ax5mRPuPkr8HAdbzwqPvIs7IznTAnWd9UyXJ3HsAiVPdK4FKwhLeOA_jY68XPRNVO2rMnvtK9FI00vp7v2XQywVZhkTPTCd0bZ-3j9im/s400/Kels+%26+Ezra.jpg" border="0" /></a> <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5129198175226244226" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqj5_XRV9jsaMOjHcSpnN_oeBErScmxLqvm5Blbm6bLdZY4D9Tl0o-BR565a7uCCTSYSkiUNPyAmHZMBH4S60Y3nVl8nZcYu1tIEs48FYsVyVK1Msk32YqXK1E7_gqFtW_hGOMvk8wiugu/s400/Ever+%26+Ezra.jpg" border="0" /> <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5129200859580804258" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJYZWqhgmPfrcWFsG8Pw56zbKBQEbFhsSKYFel_wSz-Y5ZFFbewf9P7P6mPuiSqHMXz7tAIKwNQaxcdOoc7aZcuMurpKOLqBL0cUuKTNKeQ9aZyMwEqGIXhaqni_MH87zJbWNVkYdmwE_s/s400/Trick+or+Treat.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5129199184543558802" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 1px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 4px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" height="237" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKb4AMQo_dUMjemWXrdLLAwvY7DgfSahqb5h-WIPpTuR8PMc2Y9MLdYcOXj6tMhoKH0PV8BpaHRmHJN0HCMZyBXfcetkToRjJMltr3xdDut2EcmkLp6z1ipbsIcSYzUQJdZUGw0sjojt3y/s400/Big+E.jpg" width="148" border="0" /><br /><div>A year ago when we found out we were expecting, I told Ever the baby was going to be Eeyore for the first Halloween whether we had a boy or a girl. I don't think he took me seriously because he was surprised when my sister ordered Ezra his little Eeyore costume a month ago. He had to admit that the baby looked adorable once he saw him, though he also said Ezra reminded him of the kid in the movie A Christmas Story that was forced to dress up in the pink bunny outfit. On Halloween night we took the baby over to my parent's house along with my grandma, my sister and her husband. They get over 200 people Trick-or-Treating in their neighborhood and we thought it would be the perfect place to show off the baby! I know we're biased but we really thought he looked cute! He'd just had his two month set of shots that evening but did great anyway! He ended up falling asleep while I held him on the front porch as we passed out candy. I've always loved Halloween and Ever and I really enjoyed it this year since we're experiencing life all over again through Ezra. He's such a blessing in our lives and makes everyday an adventure!</div></div><br /><div></div>Ever + Kelseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11013274096907400803noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4276046607774158539.post-91402598069888515742007-10-13T17:57:00.000-07:002007-10-14T11:01:44.228-07:00Pumpkin Patch<div align="center"><br /></div><div align="left">Fall has come to St. George and that means cold weather and a trip to the local pumpkin patch! This is our third year of picking our own pumpkins and of course this year it was particularly fun because we have Ezra! My parents and Grandma even came along for the experience (notice Ever's little joke below)! Ezra was great and we can tell that Ever has offically become a father because he took the baby on a ride in the little train they have at the farm; he wouldn't be caught dead doing that before! We enjoy all the 'firsts' that Ezra has and we're so grateful to have him in our lives. A great big "Hi" to Ever's family in California, Texas and Arizona and also our friends at 'home' from Ezra, Ever and Kelsey. The lady that took these does a great job and we're really happy with how they came out! There were 57 of them in all and while we think they're all great, we won't make everyone else look at every single one of them! These are a few of our favorites. Notice how Ever just had to throw in the Dodgers somehow. Meanwhile, I got to wondering this evening what our son will think of these when he's a teenager. He may not appreciate them as much as we do, especially if we pull them out for his date to review! I guess it would be a bit weird to be a grown up looking at professionally taken naked pictures of yourself as a baby. Hmm, oh well! We love them!<br /><div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Ever + Kelseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11013274096907400803noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4276046607774158539.post-14830509820435695882007-09-19T13:52:00.000-07:002007-09-19T14:01:19.251-07:00Ezra BabyEver and I (and Spencer) are adjusting to having a new baby in the house pretty well. Of course it's been a huge change in our routine and even getting dressed in the morning while Ever is at work takes some finesse but we're getting the hang of it! Ezra is so adorable that it makes it all worth it though! Sorry we're so behind on the pictures, I haven't downloaded them yet but I'll catch up soon! We can't believe how big he's gotten already! Everyone that sees him tells us that he's very long. I don't really have any other baby to compare him to so he looks normal to me! Ok, gotta go change the baby, sorry this one is so short!Ever + Kelseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11013274096907400803noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4276046607774158539.post-43581026511591927442007-09-04T20:45:00.000-07:002007-09-04T22:05:04.951-07:00Ezra's first out of town visitors<div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikqoL75Uv0CWmZwK8FiUGbaC8cClNPbpmqtryelNQUMdlpoDNmNb_l-9YKGFAHbW_jsUO2jVgpIY3PX4XPQ5ZBx2hAm4e2mzoDiHvXt8lvTTccvGLD_dyH5xV9thGMMCS1qDISOyE62E7C/s1600-h/Ezra+4+036.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5106575976328683394" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikqoL75Uv0CWmZwK8FiUGbaC8cClNPbpmqtryelNQUMdlpoDNmNb_l-9YKGFAHbW_jsUO2jVgpIY3PX4XPQ5ZBx2hAm4e2mzoDiHvXt8lvTTccvGLD_dyH5xV9thGMMCS1qDISOyE62E7C/s400/Ezra+4+036.jpg" border="0" /></a><strong> Ezra, Kevin & Dani<br /></strong><br /><p></p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5106576384350576530" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf_ipVooNUk4Sn4XLIH58ziHKZPAMw-5p7X-LOJwnVhfzJK8U-0dm9z3Z4rCNxIuH2sy51NfiS9dgoViCqgKtUAP5WGevoE-anR3afO7Euu-fNIn4xdEcidrNNesL8CKbd7LAmIiD6v_Oc/s400/Ezra+4+035.jpg" border="0" /><strong></strong></div><div align="center"><strong></strong> </div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"></div><div align="center"><strong></strong></div><div align="center"><strong></strong></div><div align="center"><strong></strong></div><div align="center"></div><div align="left">Our very good friends Kevin & Dani Radcliffe came to stay with us over Labor Day weekend.
